Our Awards – Whitcon

The efficacy of our client-focused, quality construction services has seen us pick up a number of awards over the years. We are particularly proud of the Master Builders awards we have won—it is truly an honour and a testament to the quality of our work that we have been recognised by such an esteemed industry body.

Master Builders is the foremost building and construction industry association in Australia. It is represented in every state and territory and has over 33,000 member companies, of which Whitcon is one.

We were lucky enough to pick up the 2013 and 2015 Master Builders Excellence in Construction awards.

2013 Excellence in Construction

We won the 2013 Master Builders ‘Excellence in Construction’ Award for our Barooga Sports Club project. This project was a large-scale $2.3 million refurbishment and construction project. We renovated all existing areas and created a new foyer, lounge and terrace.We also constructed a family dining and children’s play area as well as a food court.

The project required an enormous amount of time-management, as we had to contend with 14-week lead times for delivery of the special finishes that had to be sourced from all around the world.

We exceeded client expectation by delivering the project in 22 weeks. The results speak for themselves and the sports club is a completely rejuvenated space and the new additions create a whole new layer of customer engagement.

We were incredibly proud of our achievements and thrilled to receive this award.

2015 Excellence in Construction

We were thrilled to collaborate with Split Watermelon and Curtain Bathgate to give the Dubbo RSL a complete makeover. This $3.4 million project involved renovating the majority of the club’s ground floor. We had to plan our construction carefully to ensure the high cost areas such as the toilets, bars and kitchens didn’t blow out our budget.

We were able to stay on budget and still deliver a truly remarkable job. Our ability to implement the Split Watermelon’s interior design plans and Curtain Bathgate’s architecture meant that we delivered on client expectations. The finished project is a tasteful renovation and it really is a jewel in our crown and proof of what we can achieve.
